Prof. Jackson Kioko
Kwanza, Chairman
JKUAT TVET Board.

Prof. Kwanza is a holder of a Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT, 2002). He also has two Masters degrees: Executive Master of Business Administration (EMBA) and Master of Science in Mathematics. Prof. Kwanza is a professional teacher having pursued a Bachelor of Education (Science), B.Ed. (Science) at Kenyatta University and graduated in 1988. As a professor of Applied Mathematics with specialization in Fluid Dynamics, he has carried out extensive research in his area of specialization and has published many research articles in peer reviewed Journals world-wide. He has supervised many postgraduate students both at Masters and Ph.D. levels.






Prof. Florence Sigara
Memba, Member.

Prof. Memba is an associate Professor in the Department of Business Administration, School of Business and Entrepreneurship, College of Human Resource Development of JKUAT. She is a certified public accountant and a member of ICPAK. She is a researcher and an author of many books, among other achievements. Currently, she is the Dean, School of Business and Entrepreneurship. As a trained teacher, she has vast leadership experience in the middle level colleges having worked in Technical institutes – (Rift Valley Institute of Science and Technology and Thika Technical Institute) as the Head of the Business Department. She adopts a Servant leadership style as her way of management.





Prof. Peter Kariuki
Njenga, Member.

Prof. Njenga is a holder of a Ph.D. in Developmental Biology from JKUAT. He also holds MSc, Developmental Biology from Kenyatta University. He is a professional trainer having graduated with B.Ed. Science, Botany/Zoology from Kenyatta University. He has also undertaken diverse professional courses in project management. He is currently the Director, JKUAT NCBD campus. Previously, he was the Director Academic programs at JKUAT Karen Campus (2013 – 2016). His skills and experiences span academia, research, project management, policy development and community outreach. He has supervised several postgraduate students in his area of expertise. He is a trained Biology practicals Examiner with Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC). He has authored several books and publications in diverse areas of applied Biology.




Dr. Christiaan Adika
Adenya, Member.

Dr. Adenya is a Ph.D. holder in Design and Construction of Naval Architecture and Ocean Structure from Harbin Engineering University, China, 2016. M.Sc. holder in Mechanical Engineering (Design and Production) JKUAT, 2010 and a B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering (First Class Honors) The University of Nairobi, 2000. He is the former Chairman, Department of Marine Engineering and Maritime Operations (2018-2022) and currently, a Lecturer, Department of Marine Engineering and Maritime Operations at JKUAT. Dr. Adenya is an engineer involved in academia, research, management consultancy and policy development; contributing to the generation and application of engineering knowledge.





Dr. Michael Waema
Kimwele, Member.

Dr. Kimwele is the Director of the School of Computing and Information Technology (SCIT) at JKUAT. He holds a BSc. Mathematics and Computer Science (First Class Honors) from JKUAT (2002), a Masters in Information Technology Management from University of Sunderland, UK (2006) and a Doctorate in Information Technology from JKUAT (2012). He has authored a commendable number of Researches and also supervises postgraduate students. His main research interests are in Software Engineering, Computer Security and Social Computing. He serves as Head Judge: Technology Category- Young Scientists Kenya (YSK) https://ysk.co.ke.





Dr. George M.
Gatero, Member

Dr. Gatero is the University Librarian in charge of Academic Programmes and currently coordinating the JKUAT B.Sc. degree in Information Science. He holds a Ph.D. in Library and Information Science from Moi University; MSc. in Information Science from Loughborough University, U.K. and a BSc. degree in Botany and Zoology from the University of Nairobi. He has considerable experience in library management, teaching of both the undergraduate and postgraduate students mainly in the areas of Information and Knowledge Management and Information Literacy and Scholarly Communication. He has published in-peer-reviewed journals and authored university level book published by Lambert Academic Publishing (Germany).To date, Dr. Gatero is a Peer Reviewer and a Resource Person with the Commission for University   Education.




Dr. Frida W. Simba,
Secretary JKUAT
TVET Board.

Dr. Simba is a Senior Lecturer in the School of Business and Entrepreneurship, College of Human Resource Development at JKUAT. She is a Ph.D. holder in Business Administration (Strategic Management option), JKUAT. She holds a M.Sc. in Entrepreneurship from JKUAT and Bachelor of Education Arts from Kenyatta University. She has pursued various courses; Strategic Leadership Development Course from Kenya School of Government, New pedagogies in the 21st Century for Higher Education teachers, State of Israel, Initiative, Innovation and Creativity in Education Systems, Gordons College and MASHAV Education Training Center, Israel. Currently, she is the Director, JKUAT TVET Institute. She has a wide array of Management experience having been the founding Deputy Director (2011-2016) and former Director (2016-2022) of JKUAT Mombasa Campus. Under her leadership the campus has won several awards, attained global recognition and collaborations with the campus being nominated the most preferred training institution in the Coast Region. She has authored a commendable number of Research and also supervises postgraduate students. Her research interests are in Entrepreneurship and strategy. Dr. Simba sits in various boards including: Kenya Journal of TVET (KJTVET) as Editorial Board member and Human Rights Agenda (HURIA).
