Dr. Mercy Mwaniki a lecturer in the Department of Geomatics Engineering and Geospatial Information Systems (GEGIS) at Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT) has been appointed to the Technical and Vocational Education and Training Curriculum Development, Assessment and Certification Council (TVET CDACC).
Her role as defined by Cabinet Secretary for Education, Ezekiel Machogu, in a Gazette Notice No. 6789, will be to represent technical universities in Kenya at the Council for three years with effect from May 26, 2023.
TVET CDACC is mandated to undertake the design and development of curricular for the training institutions’ examination, assessment and competence certification in the TVET sector and advise the Government on matters related thereto.
This is in line with Sessional Paper No. 2 of 2015 that embraces Competency Based Education and Training (CBET) system.
